DOHA: The Qatar table tennis team on Friday won the Under-13 and Under-13 titles at the Arab Championships in Amman, Jordan, by beating Tunisia 3-2 in a strong match that extended to the tiebreak.
In the U11 final, Tunisia took the lead after the Amir Essid defeated Abdulaziz Al Abdullah 3-0 but Mohamed Al Sulaiti equalized winning against Ahmed Al Saidi 3-0.
Abdulaziz Al Abdullah and Muhammad Al Sulaiti won the doubles against Amir Al Said and Ahmed Al Saidi 3-0 (12-10, 11-6, 11-7) to give Qatar 2-1 lead.
Al Said returned to draw level for Tunisia when he overcame Al Sulaiti 3-0 to force a tie-break.
Abdel Aziz Al Abdullah defeated Ahmed Al Saeedi 3-1 (12-10, 11-7, 4-11, 11-4) to record an incredible win for Qatar.
