Singapore’s Gohlee, Kuwait’s Redha among Qatar Junior Open squash winners

DOHA : The Qatar Junior Open Squash Championships concluded at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, with young players from across the region and Asia competing in four age categories.

Singapore’s Adiv Gohlee won the under-17 title, finishing ahead of compatriot Veer Malhotra, while Kuwait’s Abdullah Redha claimed the under-15 crown ahead of fellow Kuwaiti Saleh Ashkanani.

Malaysia’s Eman Dylan Saadan took the under-13 title, with Kuwait’s Saqr Al-Kandari finishing runner-up. Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah bin Bakheet won the under-11 competition, followed by Kuwait’s Adnan Al Shammari.

The tournament was organised by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation under the auspices of the Asian Squash Federation.

Federation Secretary-General Tariq Zainal and tournament director Saad Al Mohannadi presented trophies to the winners.

Al Mohannadi said the tournament provided a strong competitive environment for young players and played an important role in developing their skills and gaining international experience.

He added that the federation would continue organising junior events to promote squash and broaden its player base, while providing Qatari players across different age groups with opportunities to compete against stronger opposition.

The championships formed part of Qatar’s efforts to support youth development and strengthen the sport’s grassroots structure.
