Gaultier to face ElShorbagy in Qatar Classic semifinals

Doha: Egyptian Mohammed El Shorbagy survived a five-game thriller against compatriot Ali Farag, winning 3-2 (11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 16-18, 11-8) to enter the semifinal of the Qatar Classic Squash on Wednesday. El Shorbagy will meet top seed Gregory Gaultier after the Frenchman stormed past Peru’s Diego Elias 3-0 (11-2, 11-7, 11-5).
Egypt’s Tarek Momen will meet Germany’s Simon Rosner in the second semifinal.
While Momen, seeded eight, shocked fourth seed Nick Matthew of England 3-1 ( 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-6) Rosner scripted an even bigger upset, stunning Egypt’s Marwan El Shorbagy 3-1 (11-7, 9-11, 11-5, 11-3).
