Wales 1 shown the door at World Snooker Team Cup in Doha

Doha: The first day of the World Snooker Team Cup 2018 in Doha witnessed an upset as Wales 1, comprising Andrew Pagett and Alex Taubman crashed out after losing both group D matches to the Isle of Man.

In another match, team Pakistan-1 (Muhammad Asif, Babar Masih) who had lost the first match to Russia, secured 3-0 win against Iraq to stay in the competition.

 Asif and Masih had earlier lost to Ivan Kakovskii and Mikhail Terekhov.

Meanwhile, Qatar 2 team of Mohsen Bukshaisha and Mhanaa Al Obaidli lost to Egypt’s Hesham Shawky and Wael Talaat 2-3.

Egypt had earlier lost to Hong Kong-1 1-3.

In other matches Team India-1 (Shahbaaz Khan / Malkeet Singh) beat Team Iceland 3-0 and Team Iran, comprising Amir Sarkhosh and Ehsan Heydari Nezhad, surprised Welshmen Andrew Pagett and Alex Taubman 3-1.
