Pakistan win Asian Team Snooker title
Doha: Pakistan 1 defeated a strong India 1 side in a thrilling final to win the Asian Team Snooker Championship at the at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Hall on Friday.
Babar Masih was the star of the show for Pakistan as he teamed up with Mohamed Asif to quell the challenge of India’s Pankaj Advani and Malkeet Singh.
Masih defeated Advani to give Pakistan a 1-0 lead. Even though Singh drew level for Pakistan, Masih and Asif won the doubles to hand Pakistan the advantage once again. Advani also defeated Asif the drew level, but Masih got the better of Singh as Pakistan had the last laugh.
Earlier in the semifinals, Pakistan defeated China featuring Wu Yize and Pang Junxu 3-1 while India edged Pakistan 2 comprising Mohamed Majid Ali and Mohamed Bilal 3-2.
