Doha to host IBSF World Snooker Championship in November
Doha: The Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation (QBSF) will host the will host 43rd International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championship at the Al Arabi Sports Club from November 15-25.
A total of 51 countries will take part in the tournament.
“IBSF would like to thank the QBSF for hosting the competition at a very short notice. We had specified a deadline till August 18 for the bidding. Qatar was the only country that responded and agreed to host the event,” IBFS said in a statement.
The competition will have three categories — Men, Women and Masters.
Iran’s Soheil Vahedi beat Wales’ Andrew Pagett in the last year’s final, which was also held here.
Each country is allowed to send maximum three players in Men and as many in Masters and four in Women’s competition. Each region is also allowed to enter winner of their regional championship.
