Doha to host Asia, World Snooker Championships in November

DOHA: The Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation (QBSF) will host the Asian Snooker Championship in November in conjunction with the World Championship.

Mubarak Al Khayareen, QBSF Executive Director stated that the Asian Championship was scheduled for last April and was postponed for the current month of July.

In a press statement, he said that the Asian and World Championships in Qatar will not be held unless the atmosphere is completely safe as well as the return of travel and air traffic without obstacles.

He revealed that Qatar will also host, on the sidelines of the two championships, the two general assemblies of the Asian and international federations, pointing to their importance as they will witness the elections to choose a new board of directors.

Mohamed Salem Al Nuaimi, QBSF Secretary General will preside over the Asian Snooker Federation’s presidency at its current session as well.

Meanwhile, QBSF, headed by Muhammad Al Ramzani, decided to take precautionary measures in preparation to restart the season.
