Longines Hathab Series: Nasser Al Ghazali claims Big Tour showjumping overall crown

DOHA: Nasser Al Ghazali claimed the Big Tour showjumping overall title after the end of 12th round at the Fourth Edition of Qatar Equestrian Tour Longines Hathab Series here at Al Shaqab Indoor Arena on Saturday night.

Al Ghazali had finished third behind Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi and Faleh Suwead Al Ajami in the 12th and last round, but his performances in the previous rounds were good enough to fetch him the title.

Al Ghazali collected 196 points after the end of 12th round competition.

The tournament was conducted jointly by Qatar Equestrian Federation and Al Shaqab (Member, Qatar Foundation) and supported by The Social & Sport Contribution Fund.

The tournament, which included 12 individual and team rounds, was launched in October, 2020.

Nasser Al Ghazali won the title in the inaugural edition.

Cyrine Cherif, who bagged the last round in Medium Tour, emerged overall winner with 198 points while Khalifa Abdullah Al Khadi took the honour in Small Tour (200 points).

Maryam Ahmad Al Semaitt won the  Dressage-Level 1  title with 165 points while Asma Yasser Mohammed took the honours in in Level 2 (174 points).

As for the Future Riders, Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani took the Level 1 title while Kian Monti won the Level 2.

On the last day, Alqaqa Adel Nassar won the last round in Small Tour (110-115cm) followed by Hussain Saeed Haidan and Hamad Ali Al Attiyah.

Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani gave away the prizes to the respective winners.
