Yang Ji-in clinches gold in women’s 25m pistol event at Paris Olympics

CHATEAUROUX, France: South Korea’s Yang Ji-in triumphed in the women’s 25 metres pistol event at the Paris Olympics on Saturday, securing a gold medal in a dramatic finish.

The event, held at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, saw Yang and France’s Camille Jedrzejewski tied with 37 points, necessitating a shoot-off to determine the winner. Yang emerged victorious in the shoot-off, winning 4-1 to claim the top spot on the podium.

The silver medal went to Jedrzejewski, while Hungary’s Veronika Major earned the bronze in another tense shoot-off. Major’s victory in the shoot-off denied India’s Manu Bhaker a third medal at the Paris Games, adding to the high-stakes atmosphere of the competition.(Reuters)
