Tomacek, Cainero shine at Qatar Open Shooting
Doha: Czech Republic’s Jakub Tomacek edged Denmark’s Jasper Henson in shoot off (6-5) to win the skeet gold at the Qatar Open Shotgun championship at Losail Shooting Range on Thursday.
Frenchman Anthony Terras took bronze with 45.
However, there was a bit of disappointed in store for fans as Qatar’s most celebrated shooter, Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah failed to impress and finished 25th.
In the women’s category, Chiara Cainero of Italy (52) won gold while Lucie Anastassiou (51) of France took silver. Olympic winner Diana Bacosi, also of Italy, took bronze.
Qatar's Abdulla Rashdan won the Men's Junior Skeet title finishing ahead of compatriot Mohammed Al Khulaifi (106) Lithuania's Tomas Vaitekunas came third with 100.
Lithuania's Alisa Bogdanova took the Junior Women's Skeet title (112), finishing ahead of Britain’s Madeleine Boyd (108). Qatar's Fatma Al Muraikhi took bronze with 97.
