Sports activities organised to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities

DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation, in collaboration with the Qatar Paralympic Committee and the Qatar Stars League, organized the “Paralympic Inspiration Day” event at the Ladies Sports Hall in Aspire Zone.
The event coincided with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually on December 3.
A number of guests and dignitaries, Ooredoo Stars League players, stars and former players as well as representatives of media outlets also attended the event.
“You’re part of the fabric of community, and we are part of you,” said Dr. Ahmed Khellil Abbassi, Executive Director of Competitions and Football Development, on the occasion.
The events included distinctive sections and various sports activities, most notably standing long jump, obstacle race, floor hockey, basketball, football bowling and other games, and medals were distributed to the participating students and players.
Abdullah Nasser Al Naemi, Acting CEO of AZF, said, “AZF is proud to host the 2024 Paralympic Games Day at Aspire as we believe that sports are not limited to a specific category and that they’re available to all ages and abilities.”
