‘World League a good experience for us’

SENIOR Qatar international Ibrahim Saeed said Qatar were richer by experience after their FIVB World League debut.
The tall spiker was a key player in the Gulf side’s resounding win in the last match against Puerto Rico.
“We could win only one match in the first round in Slovenia, but managed two victories in Greece. We showed to everyone that if we play to our strengths, we can beat any opponents on any stage. The World League was a good experience for us,” said Ibrahim.
In the match against Puerto Rico at the Alexandrio Melathron Hall in Thessaloniki, Ibrahim was outstanding. In addition to scoring a match-high 14 points, his blocking was exceptional as he accounted for five out of his team’s total nine.
It was his stunning performance that helped Qatar clinch the first set while his attack down the middle made the difference in the second.
“I’m satisfied with our overall show at the World League. After all, we were competing in it for the first time. We should keep the momentum,” added Ibrahim.
