Qatar shines with silver in West Asia Beach Volleyball Championship
MUSCAT : Qatar’s men’s beach volleyball team added another milestone to their growing list of achievements, earning a silver medal at the 4th West Asian Beach Volleyball Championship held in Muscat.
The Qatari pair, Mahmoud Essam and Saif Abdulmajid, impressed throughout the tournament with their skill and determination. After a thrilling semi-final win against Bahrain (21–12, 26–24), the duo entered the final just hours later, facing hosts Oman. Despite a strong start and clear teamwork on display, fatigue from their earlier match saw them narrowly miss out on gold.
This latest success underscores Qatar’s steady rise in regional and global beach volleyball. The performance aligns with the Qatar Volleyball Association’s vision to build a world-class team ahead of the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Australia, where the world’s top 48 teams will compete.
Having captured Olympic bronze in Tokyo 2020 and finishing fourth at Paris 2024, Qatar continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the sport’s emerging powerhouses, combining talent, preparation, and ambition on the global stage.
