Al Rayyan, Police gain advantage in Amir Cup semifinals

Doha, Qatar: Al Rayyan defeated Al Arabi 3-1 in the first leg of their best-of-three Amir Cup volleyball semifinal match on Wednesday.

Rayyan were off to a terrible start losing the first set but they came back strongly to settle the match in four sets 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 28-26. The second leg will be played on Saturday.

In the other semifinal first leg, Police got the better of Al Ahli in straight sets 25-22, 26-24, 25-19.

The final of the Amir Cup is scheduled for May 17.
