Al Kuwari re-elected as WAVA President

DOHA: The General Assembly of the West Asian Volleyball Associ-ation (WAVA) held a meeting in Doha in the presence of a host of its members yesterday.

During the meeting, President of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari (pic-tured), was reelected President of WAVA by acclamation for the second consecutive time.Held after the convention of the General Assembly, the meeting agreed to name Muhammad Salem Al Kuwari from (Qatar) as Secretary-General, Yousef Ahmed Kanoo (Qatar) Treasurer, Jihad Al Qutaishat (Jordan) Vice-President, and Ibrahim Al Muqbali (Sultanate of Oman) as Vice-President.

The meeting also named 13 members for the association’s board, namely Jihad Issa Al Qutaishat (Jordan), Ibrahim Al-Muqbali (Sultanate of Oman), Dr. Khaled Mansour Al Zughaibi (Saudi Arabia), Walid Al Qasouf (Lebanon), Hussein Awad Alawi (Yemen), Habib Ali Taher (Iraq), Abdulaziz Al Salman (UAE), and Mufid Al Hatti (Syria), Habib Muhammad Abdullah (Bahrain), and Aisha Abdullah Al Jabri (Sul-tanate of Oman) in the women’s seat.
