Sinner stays No.1 in ATP rankings despite French Open loss to Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner strengthened his position at the top of the ATP rankings on Monday despite falling to Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set French Open final.
Sinner, who was beaten by the Spaniard in the semi-finals last year, earned 500 points for reaching his first Roland-Garros final, while Alcaraz, the defending champion, remained second after gaining no additional points.
Germany’s Alexander Zverev held onto third despite a quarter-final exit, while Novak Djokovic rose one spot to fifth after losing to Sinner in the semis. Jack Draper reached a career-high fourth following his run to the last 16.
Lorenzo Musetti climbed to sixth—his best ranking—after his semi-final finish, while Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul are now ranked seventh and eighth respectively.
