Serbia to honour Djokovic with dedicated museum

BELGRADE – In the wake of Novak Djokovic’s historic Olympic gold medal win, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced plans to construct a museum dedicated to the tennis legend.

The museum, expected to be a major tourist attraction, will celebrate Djokovic’s extraordinary career and his significant contributions to Serbia.

Djokovic, a beloved national hero, has enjoyed unparalleled success on the tennis court, capturing 24 Grand Slam titles and now an Olympic gold. His impact extends far beyond sports, making him a revered figure in Serbian society.

The proposed museum is seen as a fitting tribute to Djokovic’s achievements, mirroring similar honors bestowed upon other tennis greats such as Rafael Nadal. Serbian officials aim to complete the project before the country hosts the World Expo in 2027.

Djokovic’s recent Olympic triumph, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz to claim the gold medal, has further ignited national pride in Serbia.
