Nadal joins Spain’s Davis Cup Final Eight squad

MADRID: Former world number one Rafael Nadal has been named in Spain’s Davis Cup Final Eight squad, marking his return to competitive tennis after fitness concerns sidelined him in recent months. Organizers confirmed Nadal’s inclusion on Monday, alongside world number three Carlos Alcaraz, veteran Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreno Busta, and doubles specialist Marcel Granollers.

Nadal, 38, last competed at the Paris Olympics, where he fell to Novak Djokovic in the second round. Since then, the Spanish star withdrew from both the U.S. Open and the Laver Cup to focus on recovery.

Spain will face the Netherlands in the quarter-finals, with the tie set to kick off on November 19. Fans eagerly await Nadal’s return, hoping his experience can bolster Spain’s chances in the prestigious competition.
