Fucsovics, Moutet make main draw of Qatar ExxonMobil Open
Doha, Qatar: The top-four seeds of the qualifiers – Hungary's Márton Fucsovics, Swede Mikael Ymer and the Frech pair of Grégoire Barrère and Corentin Moutet – moved into the main round of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open on Sunday.
Fucsovics had to sweat it out against Czech Republic’s Jiri Vesely before prevailing 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in one hour and 48 minutes. He will meet eighth seed Frances Tiafoe of US in the first round.
Ymer also had to come back from a set behind to beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. He will take on Slovenia's Aljaž Bedene on Monday.
Meanwhile, Barrere defeated Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro 6-4, 6-4 to book a first-round meeting with compatriot Jeremy Chardy.
Moutet also was trouble-free in his 6-2, 6-4 victory against Australian Alexei Popyrin and will meet Tennys Sandgren in the first round.
