Berrettini named Saudi PIF tennis ambassador to inspire global growth

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has appointed Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini as its tennis ambassador. In this new role, Berrettini will work closely with PIF to promote the development of tennis and inspire the next generation of players, both within Saudi Arabia and globally.

The PIF, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, has been significantly increasing its involvement in tennis. It recently became the official naming partner of the men’s and women’s world rankings, marking a strategic move to align itself with the sport’s top-tier governance. Additionally, the fund has established partnerships with multiple tournaments, underlining its commitment to elevating tennis on a global scale.

Berrettini, a Wimbledon finalist and one of the sport’s most recognizable players, expressed his enthusiasm for the role, emphasizing the importance of making tennis more accessible and nurturing young talent.
