Qatar team for Asia Rugby Sevens announced

DOHA: The Qatar team for Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy was announced by the Qatar Rugby Federation (QRF) on Wednesday.
Qatar will face the Philippines and Nepal on the opening day on March 3.
The two-day tournament is hosted by the QRF.
The players were selected based on their performances at various international and domestic tournaments during the last 12 months.
The winner will qualify for Asian Series, with a chance to qualify for the World Series in San Francisco, the US, next year.
“We've a great team of dedicated men who sacrificed so much to get this far. We're a strong outfit with big powerful forwards and equally as big and fast out wide. I hope, we'll qualify for the final," said QRF President Yousef Al Kuwari.
"We lost a few vital players from last season, but managed to balance their loss with quality players including Ford, Amit and Ward. They're big boys with plenty of hunger and rugby experience”.
“We also retained veterans Al Maliki, Al Mohannadi and Featherstone again who have played years of rugby and their experience at this level will be vital to the team. We'll be expecting them to take charge and lead the way," added Al Kuwari.
