Xie Yu claims hold in men’s 10m air pistol at Paris Olympics

PARIS: On Sunday, Xie Yu of China delivered a stellar performance to win gold in the men’s 10 metre air pistol event at the Paris Olympics.

The competition, held at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, saw Xie aggregate an impressive 240.9 points, outshooting his closest rival, Italy’s Federico Nilo Maldini, who scored 240 points to secure the silver medal. Fellow Italian Paolo Monna rounded out the podium with a bronze-winning tally of 218.6 points.

This victory marks a significant achievement for Xie, who at 24 years old, showcased remarkable composure and precision. His triumph adds to China’s shooting success at these Games, following their gold medal in the 10 metre air rifle mixed team event on Saturday.
