Manu Bhaker creates history for India
PARIS: Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh claimed the bronze for India, beating the South Korean pair Oh Ye-jin and Lee Won-ho 16-10 in Mixed 10m Air Pistol Shooting.
Bhaker, who won bronze in the women’s individual event, becomes India’s first multi-medallist at an Olympic Games since the country’s independence in 1947.
The other Indian to achieve this feat was Norman Pritchard, who won two silver medals in the 200-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash at the 1900 Paris Olympics.
