Soud Al Thani, Ali Ahmed star in Qatar Online Racing Championship
Doha, Qatar: Soud Al Thani staved off a tough challenge from Hade Ahmed to nitch up his second successive win in the Qatar Online Racing Championship for bikes on Tuesday.
Al Thani had won the first race on Sunday in a convincing fashion.
His latest victory, the 15-lap contest on MotoGP 19 PS4, helps Al Thani lead the Group A with 80 points ahead of Hade Ahmed and Jeremy Parola, who are tied for second with 69 points each.
Parola finished third on Tuesday.
In Group B Kuwait’s Ali Ahmed finished first ahead of Qatar Superstock champion Abdulla Al Qubaisi. Mohamed al-Zaidan rounded off the podium spot.
Sunday’s race winner Saeed Al Sulaiti, the three-time QSTK champion had to skip the race with technical issues.
Al-Sulaiti was at first awarded zero points but after an appeal to Stewards committee, he was given 26 points as he had finished the qualifying session.
The third and final qualifying race will be held on Thursday, with top six riders from each group making it to next week’s final round.
