Second round of Qatar Motorsports Academy Challenge concludes
Doha, Qatar: The second round of Qatar Motorsports Academy Challenge concluded at Losail Circuit Sports Club in QMA area, in the presence of HE Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali.
QMA Challenge is a new championship launched by the Academy in the 2019-2010 season and includes four races. A total of 37 children took part in the second round.
All young riders who have been training during the season competed in the road track (Karting Area) in different categories: 13 riders in Minimotard 70, 10 riders in MiniGP 110 and 6 riders in Supermotard 125.
There was also the Rookies category with an exhibition for the eight beginners who did two rounds of 10 minutes with different technical exercises.
In the second round, the Supersport 300 riders did not take part as they are now racing at the QSTK Championship.
In the Minimotard 70 Final race, the victory was for the Spanish rider Miguel Roda, who completed the eight laps in 6:24.118. British rider Jake Franklin was second and the third place went to another British rider Bobby A Danvers.
In the MiniGP 110 category, there was a Last Chance race to decide the two riders that will go to the final race where Malaysian rider Zakirah Bin Zairin and Andrea Giacchero from Italy were the fastest riders.
In the MiniGP 100 Final race, first-round winner Nolann Macary from France completed the 12 laps in 8:16.667 to emerge victorious. Egyptian rider Mahmoud Elbanna finished second and Hungarian Marton Belleli came third.
In the Supermotard 125 Race, Belgian rider Sami Salvaggio clocked 8.47:488 to finish first. Abdullah Al Saey from Qatar finished second and Italian Gino Poggi completed the podium.
Trophies were presented by Juan Baquero (LCSC CEO), Jose Luis Cardoso (Head of QMA) and QMA Coaches Alberto Moncayo, Ruben Herrera, Andrea Sibaja and Mateo Tnez.
The coming rounds will be held on the April 4th and 18th.
