Saeed Al Sulaiti wins Qatar Online Racing Championship

Doha, Qatar: Saeed Al Sulaiti won the Qatar Online Racing Championship Moto in style, bagging the third final at the home Losail International Circuit on Thursday.
Al Sulaiti had won the first two finals but Sheikh Soud bin Jassim Al Thani and the rest of the chasing pack were putting big pressure on the leader coming into the decider.
And the three-time QSTK600 winner, who raced for Qatar in the World Superbike Championship and Moto2, suffered an early crash before regaining his poise to emerge as the champion.
The 35-year old finished the race at the 5.38-km floodlit circuit 11 seconds ahead of Sheikh Soud.
“I am very happy to be the champion. I want to thank the QMMF for organising the such a fine online championship,” said Al Sulaiti.
“It is a hard time for all. I would hope that soon this situation (coronavirus pandemic) ends and we all get a chance to get back to the track. I want everybody to follow the government guidelines and stay safe,” he added.
Kuwaiti rider Mohamad Al Zaidan took third while Hade Patel finished fourth.
