Red Bull rumors swirl as reports suggest Lawson’s replacement

DUBAI: Speculation surrounding Liam Lawson’s future at Red Bull intensified on Tuesday, with reports emerging that the Formula One team has decided to replace the New Zealander with Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda.
Dutch newspapers De Telegraaf and De Limburger claimed that Tsunoda, backed by Honda, is set to swap seats with Lawson and join Max Verstappen as his teammate starting from next week’s Japanese Grand Prix. The reports suggested that a Red Bull meeting in Dubai led to the decision, with an official announcement expected later this week.
As of now, Red Bull has not made any official comment on the situation. The New Zealand Herald reported that Lawson’s representatives remain unaware if Red Bull has finalized the move.
Lawson, promoted from Red Bull’s feeder team Racing Bulls to replace Sergio Perez, has struggled in his first two race weekends in Australia and China. If the reports prove true, Tsunoda’s arrival would mark another significant shake-up in Red Bull’s driver lineup.(Reuters)
