Qatar Motorsport Academy students impress in UAE race

DOHA: Qatar Motorsport Academy students Bader Alsulaiti (Senior Max Class), Taha Hassiba (Senior Max Class) and Tameem Hassiba (Junior Max Class) entered their second and third ever professional races this weekend at the Rotax Max Challenge UAE Rounds 5.1 and 5.2 at Yas Marina F1 Circuit.

With the level of competitors high in these events, the participants had a very tough job at hand, the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) said in a press release on Monday.

Bader Al Sulaiti was the lead driver of the group, finishing P8 in the final on the first day, beating out much more experienced drivers and only finishing 7 seconds off the leader.

He impressed the rest of the field and showed them that he will soon be a force to be reckoned with. On the second day he finished a respectable P11, both days finishing top rookie, and beating out many more experienced drivers.

Taha had a more difficult weekend, but still drove impeccably throughout the event, finishing both days with a P13. And second of the rookies.

Tameem (the youngest of the 3) had some problems through the weekend, on the first day finishing p28 due to some contact and damaging his kart, and on the second day did not finish the race.

All weekend showed decent pace, and progressing, but still a long way to go.

The Qatar Motorsports Academy are nurturing these boys, and they are proving themselves in one of the most competitive championships in the region.
