MotoGP rider Vinales praises facilities at Aspire, Qatar Motorsports Academy
Doha, Qatar: Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP rider Maverick Vinales said that training in Qatar this winter is part of his determination to take a step forward physically and mentally, adding that undergoing a programme at Aspire Academy was of utmost importance.
In a press statement, Vinales said he thought about the opportunity of being able to ride bikes normally in winter when in Europe they mostly have to train indoors, so he decided to move to Doha when his homeland is covered by snow.
Vinales said: "At the Qatar Motorsports Academy facilities, I can train every day while the snow covers Andorra".
"During the celebration of the Qatar GP at the beginning of the season I saw the facilities of the Qatar Motorsports Academy and I was impressed. I spoke with the authorities and they open the door for me to use these facilities anytime I wanted."
"I have already gotten everything organized and I have been able to train with Qatar Motorsports Academy coaches, and I have to say that it is unbelievably good," he stressed. "Also there are very experienced riders who can also help you. Most of them are ex-GP riders," he said.
Vinales explained that they (motorcycle riders) have to improve every day. As every day, every lap, must make an improvement.
For Vinales, to be inside the Qatar Motorsports Academy means more improving, as this is his target.
Regarding working with Aspire, he said: "It's a high-tech training academy that has incredible facilities and world-top professionals working there."
