Marc Marquez wins Argentina GP in style as Marquez brothers dominate again

TERMAS DE RIO HONDO, Argentina: Ducati’s Marc Marquez claimed victory at the Argentina Grand Prix on Sunday, continuing his red-hot form after a dominant performance throughout the weekend. The Spaniard, who also won Saturday’s sprint race, edged out his brother Alex Marquez of Gresini Racing, with VR46 Racing’s Franco Morbidelli completing the podium.

Just like in the season opener in Thailand, Marc was in control for most of the race but briefly lost the lead to Alex following a rare error. However, the eight-time world champion quickly regained his position and never looked back, securing his second consecutive Grand Prix victory.

The Marquez brothers’ one-two finish was a historic moment, as MotoGP had not witnessed siblings finishing first and second in 76 years—until the pair achieved the feat twice in just two weeks. The win was also Marc’s 90th career victory across all classes, equalling the legendary Angel Nieto. In a touching tribute, he wore a racing wreath inscribed with “Gracias Angel” and pointed skyward in celebration.

With this latest triumph, Marc extends his lead in the MotoGP riders’ championship to 16 points over Alex, reinforcing his status as the rider to beat this season.
