Hamilton unfazed by Newey’s decision to join Aston Martin

BAKU,Azerbaijan: Lewis Hamilton has brushed off any disappointment regarding star designer Adrian Newey’s decision to join Aston Martin rather than Ferrari, the team Hamilton will be racing for next season. Aston Martin announced on Tuesday that Newey, 65, would take on the role of Managing Technical Partner and shareholder in March after a successful tenure at Red Bull. Ferrari had also been in pursuit of Newey’s services.

When asked at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Thursday if he felt let down by not having the opportunity to collaborate with Formula One’s top designer, Hamilton responded, “honestly, no.” He added, “I feel like whilst I mentioned before that it would be good to work with Adrian, I’ve been privileged to work with two championship-winning teams that didn’t have Adrian.”(Reuters)
