Dbeissy, El Kholy shine at Qatar Online Racing Championship

Doha, Qatar: Mansour Dbeissy and Ahmed El Kholy put in impressive performances on Thursday to enter the final of the Qatar Online Racing Championship (QORC) for rally cars.

Dbeissy won five out of seven stages to emerge on top in Rally Germany. Though he finished third (106 points) in Group A, behind Oman’s Zakariya Alofi (113 points) and Khalid Al Maraghi (108), he would be thrilled to move into the final with plenty of momentum.

In Group B QORC Auto champion El Kholy was won four stages to top the timesheet and finish second overall, behind Oman’s Ammar Balushi (113). Behind them, there was nothing to chose between Kuwait’s Mishari
Al Thefiri and Adel Abdulla, who both finished on 100 points.

Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) Executive Director Amro Al Hamad said both drivers will progress to the final.

“They (Al Thefiri and Abdulla) were tied with 100 points. We still had one extra space in the final race. It will be interesting that way as we will have racers from Qatar, Oman and Kuwait in the final including one ex-world
champion,” said Al Hamad.
