Qatari duo bags team bronze
QATAR won team bronze at the Third GCC Women’s Championship in Manama last week. The duo of Yasmian Al Sharshani and Maryam Al Sada had a gross score of 682 (240, 243, 199) in the three-day event held at the Royal Golf Club.
The UAE clinched gold with a gross score of 533 (186, 175, 172) while Kuwait, who had an aggregate of 552 (182, 184, 186), bagged silver.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Saleh Al Kaabi and Ali Al Shahrani had to be content with a fourth-place finish at the 21st GCC Men’s Championship held simultaneously.
Bahrain won the title while Saudi Arabia and the UAE clinched silver and bronze respectively.
The GCC Annual General Assembly was also held on the event’s sidelines. Executive Director Mohammed Faisal Al Naimi represented the Qatar Golf Association.
