Bernhard Langer: PGA tour champions would welcome Woods

CALIFORNIA: Two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer expressed excitement over the possibility of Tiger Woods joining the PGA Tour Champions when he becomes eligible on December 30. Woods, a 15-time major winner, has played a limited schedule since his February 2021 car accident but remains a competitive force in golf.

Langer, who holds a record 47 career wins on the senior circuit, highlighted the thrill it would bring to see Woods participate in Champions Tour events, where players are permitted to use golf carts.

“I’m convinced he will play several [events]. Depends how many,” said Langer during a press conference ahead of the Chubb Classic.

Woods and Langer faced off last December in an unofficial family team event, where Langer won in a playoff. Golf fans and fellow players alike would eagerly welcome the legendary golfer’s presence on the senior circuit.(Reuters)
