Ravindra recovering from head injury, faces concussion protocols

KARACHI: New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has resumed light training after being struck in the face by the ball during a fielding mishap but must pass concussion protocols before returning to action, according to coach Gary Stead.
Ravindra was hit on the forehead after losing sight of the ball in the floodlights while attempting a catch during a Champions Trophy warm-up match against Pakistan in Lahore last Saturday. Although he cleared his initial Head Injury Assessment (HIA), he experienced headaches in the days following the incident and will undergo further HIA evaluations.
As a result, Ravindra will miss the ODI tri-series final against Pakistan in Karachi on Friday and is doubtful for New Zealand’s Champions Trophy opener against the hosts next Wednesday in the same city.(Reuters)
