BRISBANE: The much-anticipated third Test between Australia and India at the Gabba in Brisbane faced an early disruption as rain halted the resumption of play after lunch on Saturday. Australia, having been sent in to bat by India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, stood at 28 for no loss when the showers began.

Openers Nathan Mcsweeney and Usman Khawaja looked steady in the early exchanges before the weather intervened, forcing the players off the field. The match is pivotal in the five-Test series, which is currently tied at 1-1. Australia secured a commanding victory in Adelaide after India claimed the opening Test in Perth.
