Mosanda edge City Exchange in Qatar Airways T20 cricket

Doha, Qatar: Mosanda scripted an exciting one-run victory over City Exchange in a Division A match in the Qatar Airways Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.

After Kamran Khan cracked 49 out of Mosanda’s 142 for four in 20 overs and Imran Ali chipped in with 35, the latter joined hands with Ahmer to restrict the rivals at 141 for eight in a pulsating finish.

Khan’s 50-ball knock had four boundaries while Ali also hit four shots to the fence in his 34-ball innings. Shafiq picked two wickets for 13 and Rayees had one for 27.

City Exchange got stuck after Shafeeq hit two sixes and as many fours in 39 and Jackson blasted a six and six fours in his 18-ball cameo of 35. Ali’s two wickets for 15 and Ahmer’s two for 10 helped Mosanda pull off the victory.

Javed’s 58 in just 36 balls were supported well by Ameen and Saeed as Gulf Colours Lagaan easily defeated Bangladesh Seniors by 34 runs in another match.

Javed hammered a six and nine fours to lay the base of his team’s 156 in 18.1 overs. Ziku and Ronny shared four wickets. Haleem battled the longest for Bangladesh Seniors and got 23 with a six and two fours. Ameen and Saeed grabbed three scalps each to dismiss the opponents for 122 in 17.5 overs. In the third match, Sherin’s all-round display (four wickets for 18 and 21 runs) was the highlight as Selex beat Doha Falcons by four wickets.

Iftikhar’s 55 not out with a six and three fours and 42 by Kashif took Doha Falcons to 135 for eight. But Selex made light of the target, getting the required runs in 16.2 overs. Sherin and Asif (21 in 18 balls) saw the team home despite a four-wicket haul by Muhammad.
