M Pallonji off to flying start

Doha, Qatar: M Pallonji defeated Asian Cricket Club by eight wickets in the inaugural match of the 6th M Pallonji Cricket Tournament at the Losail Cricket Complex.

Put in to bat first, Asian Cricket Club were all out for 129 runs in 17.5 overs. Opener Daniyal was the top scorer with 44 runs. Sajid scored 33 runs while Feroz made 23.

For M Pallonji, Rajesh took three wickets giving away just two runs. Siddique and Alban took two wickets each.

In reply, Sandeesh played a stellar knock and remained unbeaten on 65 as M Pallonji reached the target in 9.3 overs, losing just two wickets. Rajesh was in fine form with the bat as well, scoring 44 runs from 18 balls with five sixes and two fours.

For his all-round performance, Rajesh was adjudged the Man of the Match.  

In the other matches, MIC defeated Mumbai XII by 3 wickets and Mitra Mandal beat Serandib B by 24 runs. 

Chidananda Naik – General Manager of M Pallonji inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Qatar Veterans Cricket officials, Syed Adil, Cricket Coordinator – Houston Cricket Association, players and match officials.
