KKR edge RR by one run in IPL 2025 thriller at Eden Gardens

KOLKATA: In one of the most dramatic matches of IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched a nail-biting one-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Batting first, KKR posted a commanding total of 206/4, powered by a blistering 25-ball 57 from Andre Russell, who marked a stunning return to form. The home side looked in control throughout most of the contest.
However, the momentum shifted in the second innings as RR’s stand-in captain Riyan Parag played a sensational knock of 95, reviving hopes for the visitors. With 22 runs needed in the final over, Shubham Dubey came close to pulling off the improbable, but a run-out on the last ball sealed a thrilling win for KKR.
The result pushes KKR closer to the playoff spots, while RR will rue missed chances in a game that went down to the wire.
