India Dominates Second Day of Final Test Match

DHARAMSHALA: On the second day of the final test match in the thrilling five-match series, India showcased their dominance, piling up a commanding lead over England. Led by stellar centuries from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, India started the day with a flourish, not losing a single wicket in the first session and amassing a formidable partnership of 129 runs. In his debut match, Devdutt Padikkal scored a watchful 65 runs. In a rare feat, the top five Indian batters all scored 50-plus runs, highlighting their batting depth and resilience.

Despite a commendable effort from England’s bowler Shoaib Bashir, who picked up 4 wickets for 170 runs, India managed to post a substantial total of 473/8 by the end of the day. Kuldeep Yadav and Bumrah further extended India’s lead with a crucial partnership, adding 45 runs and pushing the lead to 255.

The highlight of the day came when Ben Stokes, the English captain, bowled for the first time in the series and claimed the wicket of Rohit Sharma with his very first ball, providing a moment of respite for the English side.
