Gulf Expat Premier League team jerseys unveiled

The team jerseys for the inaugural Gulf Expat Premier League (GEPL) cricket were unveiled last week. Twenty sides are vying for honours in the tournament, organised under the auspices of the Qatar Expats Cricket Community (QECC) with an aim of creating more platforms for expatriates to play the game.
“The slogan ‘Be Your Family’s Hero, Always Follow Traffic Rules’ is printed on all team shirts as part of the tournament’s social commitment,” said QECC Committee member Rajesh Menon.
Another QECC member Preethesh Kumar said, “It is always nice to give something back to the society.”
The event was attended by all team captains and several members from the Qatar cricket fraternity.
The QECC is also organising the Pearl Premier, Doha Premier and Winter Premier Twenty20 Leagues. The top three finishers from each will qualify for the QECC Champions League, the dates of which will be announced later this year.
“We’re confident of making the Champions League a big success,” said QECC founder M K Riyaj.
Meanwhile, the QECC will organise a 64-team knockout tournament for National Day Trophy on December 18.
