Farhan’s blistering 80 powers Pakistan to dominant win over Sri Lanka

RAWALPINDI: Sahibzada Farhan produced a career-best performance on Saturday, smashing an unbeaten 80 off just 45 balls to guide Pakistan to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the T20 tri-series. His explosive innings, featuring five towering sixes and six crisp boundaries, ensured Pakistan cruised to the 131-run target in only 15.3 overs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka’s batting woes continued as they were restricted to 128-7 after opting to bat first. Captain Dasun Shanaka’s decision at the toss offered little reward, with Pakistan’s disciplined attack keeping the visitors in check throughout the innings. The defeat comes on the back of Sri Lanka’s heavy 67-run loss to Zimbabwe, where they were dismissed for just 95.

Pakistan, riding high after a strong start to the tri-series, sealed their second win with ease. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s white-ball tour has gone from bad to worse following a 3-0 ODI series defeat, and their struggles with the bat have persisted into the T20 format.
