Former Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal did the star turn for World Stars with a four-wicket haul as they beat Qatar Stars by two runs in the Qatar Cricket Fiesta T20 match at the Asian Town Stadium last week.
Batting first, World Stars made 145 for seven, thanks to Afghan player Nowroz Mangal’s 42 off 23 balls. Skipper Shahid Afridi chipped in with a breezy 28 off 19 deliveries while former South African opener Herschelle Gibbs provided late fireworks with an unbeaten 23 off 13.
Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal led the Qatar Stars run chase with 22 off 20 balls. However, Ajmal derailed the World Stars chase with his spell of four for 29 as they won by two runs. dsp
