Ahmedabad to host IPL final as playoffs schedule revised after conflict pause

The Indian Premier League final will be held in Ahmedabad on June 3, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Tuesday as it unveiled a revised schedule for the playoff matches.

The tournament resumed last Saturday after a week-long pause due to the conflict between India and Pakistan, resulting in the final being moved nine days later than originally planned.

Mullanpur, in New Chandigarh, will host the first qualifier and eliminator on May 29 and 30. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket venue, will stage the second qualifier on June 1, followed by the final.

“The new venues for the Playoffs were decided by the IPL Governing Council keeping in mind the weather conditions and other parameters,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Hyderabad and Kolkata were originally scheduled to host the final stages before the mid-tournament disruption altered logistics.
