ACC retain CDC Trophy

Doha: Asian Cricket Club (ACC) retained the title in the First Division of the CDC Cricket Tournament after defeating Hanan XII by two wickets in the final.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Hanan made 192 in the stipulated 20 overs. Hamid top-scored for Hanan with a quick fire 58. Sarfaraz was the most successful of ACC bowlers, taking three wickets for 18 runs. Mannu took two wickets for 27 runs.

In reply, ACC, who had beaten Hanan in last year’s final as well, were off to a steady start, scoring 99 for 4 in 10 overs. Though they lost a bit of their momentum after that, Adnan, who made an unbeaten 58 off 27 deliveries including six sixes and two fours and Bilal (38) helped them reach the target in 19.5 overs. For Hanan Parvez and Gyan took two wickets each.

Adnan was adjudged the man of the final.

Construction Development Co. (CDC) Business Development Manager Sanjiv Jain was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.

Best batsman: Farooq (CRCC Warriors)          

Best bowler: Mannu (ACC)                           

Best all-rounder:  Imran (Hanan XII)            

Best wicketkeeper:  Sameer (Hanan XII)
