Pacquiao elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame class of 2025

DOHA: Manny Pacquiao, a beloved icon in the Philippines and one of the most accomplished boxers in history, has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025. The announcement, made on Thursday, cements Pacquiao’s legacy as a global sports legend.

Known for his unparalleled speed and agility, Pacquiao captured world championships across a record-breaking eight weight divisions, ranging from flyweight to super welterweight. His illustrious career spanned 72 fights, concluding in 2021 with an impressive record of 62 wins, eight losses, and two draws.

Beyond his boxing achievements, the Filipino southpaw carved out a multifaceted identity. As a politician, he served as a senator and ran for the presidency of the Philippines in 2022. He also became a philanthropist, a lawmaker, and even explored a career as a singer.

Pacquiao’s influence extended far beyond the boxing ring. He became the first Filipino athlete to feature on a postage stamp and was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2009.
