Wahda complete All Stars hat-trick

NOVI Sad Al Wahda (UAE) clinched their third consecutive FIBA 3×3 All Stars title, beating Slovenia’s Ljubljana 21-12 in the final at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall last week.
The competition brought together the best players in FIBA 3×3 individual world rankings.
Al Wahda, who received a cheque for $20,000 from FIBA Vice-President Hamane Niang and Qatar Basketball Federation chief Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahaman Al Thani, won all three knockout games with a 10-point margin on an average.
FIBA 3×3 2016 World Tour winners Ljubljana fell short despite shooting ace Jasmin Hercegovac leading the score sheet with 23 points.
World’s No.1 3×3 player Dusan Domovic Bulut bagged the MVP honours after nailing the game winner and finishing second overall in scoring, tied with team-mate Dejan Majstorovic on 21 points.
Majstorovic also extended his team’s domination to the shoot-out contest, netting 14 points.
Meanwhile, Doha lost to the eventual winners 8-21 in the semifinal, with Bulut scoring a whopping 14 points as the hosts’ Ngombo Tanguy, Erfan Ali Saeed and Adamu Saaka found it hard to stop his bursts towards the circle or shots from the far court.
