Ty Jerome shines as Cavaliers rout Pelicans

Ty Jerome delivered a stellar performance, scoring 29 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a commanding 128-100 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.

Cleveland bounced back emphatically after their 15-game unbeaten streak was snapped by the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. The Cavaliers took control early, surging to a 69-55 halftime lead and dominating the third quarter with a 36-18 run, effectively sealing the result.

Jerome’s electric second-quarter display was the highlight, as he drained six three-pointers on his way to 20 points in the period. He finished the game with seven three-pointers from 12 attempts. Georges Niang added 20 points, including six from beyond the arc, as Cleveland improved to 16-1 to remain atop the Eastern Conference.

“It was great. Those moments don’t happen often in the NBA,” said Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson of Jerome’s second-quarter scoring spree. “It was like a superstar performance, and it lifted the whole team.”

New Orleans, mired in a slump with nine losses in their last 10 games, fell to 4-12 and sit near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

Elsewhere, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 41 points in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 122-106 win over the Chicago Bulls, and Andrew Wiggins led the Golden State Warriors with 27 points in a 120-97 triumph over the Atlanta Hawks.
