QBF to launch second edition of women’s, girls’ league in January

DOHA: The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) has announced the launch of the second edition of the Women’s and Girls’ Basketball League for the sports season (2024-2025).

During a press conference attended by members of the Women’s Committee of the Federation and representatives of the teams participating in the tournament, Chairman of the Women’s Committee at the Federation Abdullah Sultan Al Jaber revealed that the second edition of the Women’s and Girls’ Basketball League will introduce a U-15 league for the first time, alongside the existing U-18 and women’s leagues.

This addition is part of the Federation’s ongoing efforts to develop women’s basketball through a strategic plan, following the success of the league’s first edition.

He explained that the U-18 and U-15 leagues will provide young players with a significant opportunity to shine and improve the future of women’s basketball.
