Qatari boys finish third

QATAR finished third at the 3×3 FIBA Under-18 Asia Cup by beating Lebanon 21-16 in play-off in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, last Sunday.

Qatar had a great start, winning against Bahrain 21-8 and Lebanon 21-9 to qualify for the quarterfinal, where they overcame the Philippines 20-17.

However, Qatar — represented by Faisal Nabil, Ndoye Elhadj, Aladji Bobo and Asem Shalfawi — failed to put it past eventual champions China and went down 12-21.

Chinese Taipei finished runners-up in the 16-team event.

Indonesia claimed the women’s honours, followed by Malaysia and China. DSP
